Text: 1 Corinthians 3:1-10

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. The credibility of Jesus as the only way to God can be proved by his resurrection after his death and burial. Unlike Mohammed, Buddha, Confucius, etc., Jesus is the only one whose bones cannot be found.

God’s general agenda is that no sinner should die but that all should repent (2 Peter 3:9). Jesus, being the only credible Way to God, has made that way easy to find.
1. Salvation is free.
2. Salvation is not of works. You are made righteous once you believe (Ephesians 2:8,9).
3. The Salvation plan is simple. You only need to believe in your heart and confess with your mouth (Romans 10:9).

If we believe that Christ who knew no sin, was made sin for us, why do we struggle to believe that we who were in sin can be made righteous in Him? (2 Corinthians 5:21) The same power that made He who knew no sin, to become sin, is the same power that makes he who was sin-drenched, to become righteous. It is a ‘making’.

People wonder why there’s a proliferation of churches. Why are mega churches not acquiring and merging smaller denominations? The answer is simple; God does not want the death of any sinner but that all should come to repentance.

If God is trying to get the whole world into his kingdom, he has to employ several strategies.
We are all different and certain kinds of pastors appeal to certain kinds of people, so God continues to raise different pastors to reach different people.

Every church serves a purpose. The church of God has a general agenda but with different divisions, like an army going to war. One Army General oversees different divisions, battalions, garrisons, etc., each with specific duties (e.g. Engineering, Infantry, Maintenance, Medical) but all with the same general over-arching agenda.

This is why churches have different modes of worship and areas of focus, and why you should not look down on any denomination. Some churches focus on deliverance, some on prayer, etc.

Every church is a door. There are people who would not be in the Kingdom if they didn’t come through certain doors. One may come to God through a ‘deliverance church’ because of what is ‘chasing him’, etc. Every church is a door because God wants everyone to come to repentance with no one left behind. Even if there’s only one sinner that has not been reached, God will open a new door through another new church just for that one person.

However, once you have come in through the door, regardless of what door you came in through, you should not remain at the door. There is more to experience in God.
This was the frustration of Paul with the Corinthian church. (1 Corinthians 3:1,2) They were stuck at the door.

2 Corinthians 6:1,3-5(NLT) — We ought not to ignore the grace of God upon our lives. We ought to live our lives in a way that nobody stumbles because of us. We should be patient during trials and hardships.

It is high time you moved away from the door. Do not get stuck at the entrance of the kingdom. A need may have brought you in, but God desires that you go deeper with Him. He expects you to move from the door of entry, to the place where knowledge takes over. Move away from the elementary doctrines of Christ and begin to endure Sound Doctrine. Move from milk to strong meat.

Don’t be discouraged by peripheral things happening around you in church. Do not hold your church leaders in the same high esteem as Christ, but hold on to the One who gives the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6,7,21-23, 1 Corinthians 1:12,13)

It’s time to move on to the deep things of God. Move away from the door!
