Healthy soul, prosperous life by Pastor Lanre Oluseye

Ministering: Pastor Lanre Oluseye
Topic: Healthy soul, prosperous life
Text: 3 John 1: 2 (NKJV)

Your prosperity is a function of the health of your soul. In other words, the prosperity of your soul is directly proportional to the prosperity of your health and general well-being. We all desire to live a prosperous life, but the Bible is explicit about what the standard of prosperity is. Prosperity begins with the health of the soul. You cannot prosper beyond the health of your soul. The health of the soul plays a crucial role in the prosperity of your life.

All that you desire is dependent on the state of your soul.

Man exists in three forms: spirit, body, and soul. The spirit attends to heavenly things. The body has an affinity for terrestrial things. The soul is simply the connector between the spirit and the body. The soul is the house of your mind, and your mind is the house of your will, intellect, and emotions.

Every child of God is virtuous. The privilege of parenting is very important. You may begin to wonder why a virtuous woman exhibits behaviors that do not reflect who God is. At times, these women are not fighting their own battles but those of their mothers. It is important that we are mindful of the battles we fight and ensure that we do not pass them on to our children. We must seek victory.

It is imperative that women, especially mothers, find healing. A mother in pain is most likely to transfer her pain to her daughters or sons. Women like this are found in the Bible.

1. Herodias and Her Daughter (Mark 6:17-29, Matthew 14:3-11)
Herodias, the wife of Herod, harbored hatred toward John the Baptist because he condemned her unlawful marriage to Herod. When Herodias’ daughter, Salome, danced before King Herod, he promised to give her anything she asked for. Under her mother’s influence, the girl requested the head of John the Baptist on a platter. This shows how a mother’s unresolved bitterness can be passed down to her child, leading to destructive decisions.
2. Rebekah and Her Sons (Genesis 27:1-45)
Rebekah overheard Isaac planning to bless Esau, his firstborn, and conspired with Jacob to deceive Isaac into giving him the blessing instead. This was partly because she favored Jacob but also because Esau had married Hittite women who caused grief to his parents (Genesis 26:34-35). Rebekah’s interference in her children’s future stemmed from personal pain and disappointment, showing how unresolved wounds can lead to manipulation and favoritism.
3. Rizpah’s Tragedy (2 Samuel 21:1-14)
During King David’s reign, a famine struck Israel because of Saul’s wrongdoing against the Gibeonites. To atone, seven of Saul’s descendants were executed. Rizpah, one of Saul’s concubines and the mother of two of the slain men, mourned their deaths by keeping a vigil over their bodies for months. Her grief was as a result of a mother’s pain and loss, but it also showed how generational consequences can stem from past actions.

Women, do not transfer your grief to your children. Do not be part of the problem this generation is going through. Be a solution!

What You Can Do to Heal
1. Accept that you are loved by God.
God’s love is not dependent on your deeds. His love for mankind is perfect. He loves you completely.
2. Receive God’s love and, by extension, love yourself.
Regret is too heavy a burden to carry. The devil has a tricky way of making you feel like there is no reason to move on because of your past. Forgive yourself.
3. Stop carrying yourself as if Jesus did not die for you.
Jesus died for you too. Never feel that what you have done is too grievous for God to forgive. When you practice Matthew 5:44, forgiving becomes easy.

When you do these things, your soul becomes healthy and nothing can stop your prosperity.

Prayer
Father, heal me of all hurts, pains and toxicities within me in Jesus name. Amen
