Topic: Become what you believe
Text: Matthew 9:27-29 (MSG)
Over the years, a reoccurring thing you are most likely to do at the start of a new year is set goals. Many a time, you achieve these goals, other time you move it to the next year. So, you have goals that are reoccurring yearly.
We attribute our lack of achievement of these goals to the economic situation and, in other cases, our location. Hence, the decision to relocate. The truth is, when you give excuses for your inability to attain these goals, it helps you to accept the outcome.
Ask yourself, ‘what do I really believe? ‘.
If you are saved, then you are identified as a believer (Romans 10:9, John 6:29 NKJV). These scriptures tell us that God expects us to believe. Our blessing is tied to being seeds of Abraham (Romans 4:3).
In 2 Chronicles 20:20, we can see that whether you believe in Jesus or you believe in the prophecies of God or you believe in God, God has a plan of prosperity for everyone who believes.
Believe is a crucial component in the matter of being saved and in our constant living. What really do you believe?
Are you excited about God’s Decree in Amos 9:13(MSG)? Beyond all the excitement, do you actually believe it?
When God created man, He said He was creating man after His image and His likeness (Genesis 2:26 NKJV). If God asks us to believe, it implies that God Himself believes. In Genesis 1:3 (NKJV), God was confronted with creation in catastrophe and darkness loomed over creation. Before God had to deal with creation, He had to take away darkness. So He declared, “Let there be light”.
You may be experiencing darkness in a certain area of your life, and you are confused about what to do or where to turn. But God said, “Let there be light”. There has to be light in your life, endeavors, business. There has to be light for any form of construction that can be done to renew your life. It is important you have a fresh revelation of God’s word in your life. God has declared over you to “arise and shine”. Because He has spoken light over your life.
Genesis 1:3 (TPT), says, “And then God announced” …. The word “announced” here is a Hebrew word called ‘omer’. Omer means to speak, think or to imagine. God omer and there was light, God omer and there was you. God omer and things began to happen.
With this revelation, the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 3:20 said to us that “God can do exceedingly, abundantly above anything you can ‘omer’ (speak, think or imagine)”. Glory to God! You have the grace to omer.
When you read the bible text backing the prophecy of the year without believing in your heart of all that God has decreed over you. Chances are that you may not live in that reality.
God can do wonders (exceedingly, abundantly) when you believe. There’s a power that works on your inside (Ephesians 3:20 NKJV).
The woman with the issue of blood strongly believed that she didn’t have to touch Jesus to receive her healing. She believed that if she could touch His garment, then she will be made whole (Matthew 9:21 NKJV). Jesus amidst the crowd was touched by different people, but the touch from the woman with the issue of blood felt different because it was a touch with a belief.
Some situations that happen to you are meant to be dealt with by the mercy of God (Matthew 9:27 NKJV). The efficacy of mercy is that it goes to the root of a problem and eradicates it completely. When the blind men followed Jesus to the house, He asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” and they responded “Yes”. Jesus simply said become what you believe (Matthew 9:28-29, NKJV).
Don’t be afraid, don’t give up just yet, only believe.
For you to believe right, you must see right and hear right. Whatever enters into your mind through your eyes and enters into your mind through your ears will determine your level of belief.
What do you believe?
The prophecy of the year is tied to believe. Go out and become what you believe.
