Topic: You Need Courage
Text: Joshua 1:1-6 (NKJV)
I Samuel 16:1-12 – Jesse raised sons that all could pass as kings. In the same way, House on the Rock Heritage House produces Kings. Ours is a house of kings. We raise kings – male and female.
Don’t let your situation disqualify you from your assignment. We are part of a kingdom of kings. We have an inheritance in Christ Jesus and God also has an inheritance in us – that our lives bring Him glory and praise.
Ephesians 1:7,8 (TPT) – There is a practical side of life governed by laws. If you follow the laws you will get the results.
Our spiritual experiences are also governed by laws.
Four laws that govern our Christian experiences:
1. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus – Governs the new birth; sin has no hold over you.
2. The law of Faith – Governs all our possibilities in God (Hebrews 11:6).
3. The law of Relationship – Every blessing from God to you will come through other people. Be accessible.
4. The law of Righteousness – Governs our rights as believers. It governs God’s sovereignty and preserves His morality. God is a God of justice.
There are many things God has in store for you, the only thing keeping you from them is the courage to believe. Stop settling for mediocre dreams. Dare great things.
Another reason why you need courage is because trouble is part of life’s package.
Trouble does not always mean you’re in the wrong, you could get into trouble by doing the right thing, eg. Joseph with Potiphar’s wife. Trouble also comes as a reaction from hell because of the damage you’ve caused to hell.
Stop running away from trouble. Stop being being mentally weak. You need courage. You don’t come down from a plane experiencing turbulence – you fasten your seatbelts. You were born for this. There are usually opportunities on the back of trouble.
The laws of progress are the same as the laws of motion.
1. Where your life is right now is where it will remain until something changes – an external force acts on it.
2. Your speed is determined by what’s chasing you. If you want to run faster, increase the force behind you.
3. Where you are now (reaction) is a culmination of all you have done before now (action). If you want something greater, you do greater.
The world is yours. You only need courage.
