Text: Genesis 18:17-19 (KJV)

God chooses men who are generational in their thinking; people who can pass the baton to their next generation. God will never bless you for you alone. His anointing works in you for generational purposes.

In your DNA are certain traits that appear in your life whether you like them or not. Your genes decide. There are other traits that are not in the gene but due to alignment, they are copied by observation and also passed to generations to come.

When God passes his culture or mandate to a man, He’s looking at how far into that generation that mandate would be passed (Genesis 18:19).

Genesis 2:17 (KJV) – Adam and Eve did not die immediately they ate the fruit but they introduced death into their lineage. God created them to worship Him eternally, not to die. Death stole the potential of eternal power from them.

The murderer was already at work in the life of one of their seeds – Cain. Murder starts from envy. The spirit of the murderer is always jealous of the one that takes the spotlight. The spirit of the murderer can be in the same household.

We’re not created to be equal or the same. Trying to make everyone the same goes against the principles of God. When God created us He created difference because difference brings beauty. True wisdom is the ability to recognize difference (in mandates, graces, potentials, etc). Even our spiritual gifts are not the same so that we can be humble enough to approach God in other people. When you are not humble enough to see how God is using others and feel that He only has to use you, then the spirit of the murderer arises within you.

Hebrews 11:4 (NKJV) – Abel’s worship was excellent while Cain’s was ordinary. Abel put everything into his preparation for his offering. The test of true worship is excellence. (Psalm 8:9)

Paul was a murderer but God made him a worshipper because he was more acute in writing, doctrine and passing on generational blessings. One-third of the New Testament was written by Paul (Acts 9:3-16).

When God comes to honour any house the first spirit He looks for is the spirit of excellence.
Proverbs 18:6, Hebrews 11:4 – You can not find an excellent gift without sacrifice.
I Corinthians 15:10 (KJV) – The proof of your grace is the proof of your discipline. You will be selected when your gift is excellent. (I Samuel 16:17-19)

Envy comes when you’re not on your own track; when somebody is thinking bigger than you and you want to reduce the size of his dream. Envy can come from any quarters including your family members.

Genesis 37:4,8 – The only reason Joseph’s brothers hated him was because he was loved, and for his dreams and his words.

Never allow the circumstances of your environment to limit your destiny. Don’t reduce your dream because you do not want to offend your friends.

Proverbs 4:18 (KJV) – God does not limit anyone’s destiny.
Matthew 5:14 (KJV), Isaiah 60:1 – Rise and shine! The anointing for visibility is on you.

Genesis 37:18-20 (KJV) – You could be minding your business and some people may be wishing you dead.

Shine. Never apologize for your awesomeness; your testimony and breakthrough.
Genesis 37:23- Even if your garment of awesomeness has been stripped, you still have the Holy Ghost in you.
