Text: Luke 18:1 (NKJV)

A power move is any action that changes the dynamics of a situation or relationship. The first power move God made on our behalf was redemption. The second was disarming the structures the enemy used to dominate humanity. Through redemption, we were plugged into the ultimate power source. What activates this power is prayer.

The enemy devises certain strategies to stop you from praying:
1. Lack: Some people don’t feel the need to pray when they don’t receive what they’ve been asking God for.
2. Shortcuts: The enemy places shortcuts in your mind to achieve what you want, making you feel prayer is unnecessary.
3. Abundance: Can you live in abundance and still desire God?

It is essential to pray. God commands us to pray, making prayer a command, not an option.

Why do we pray?
Luke 11:2 (NKJV) reminds us that prayer is a necessity and a command. Therefore, it is not optional. Men ought always to pray. Prayer is an integral part of your Christian devotion. In Luke 18:2-3 (NKJV), Jesus tells the story of a judge who neither feared God nor respected people. However, a persistent widow kept coming to him, seeking justice. The lesson here is that we must remain consistent in prayer, regardless of what we face.

What prayer can do:
1. Prayer triggers dynamic shifts. Some shifts in your life will not happen unless you pray. When things aren’t going as you want, instead of complaining, pray. A believer cannot thrive without prayer. Don’t let circumstances and situations be the only reason you pray.
2. Prayer solidifies your bond with God. 1 Corinthians 14:2 & 4 (NKJV), a time of prayer is a time of fellowship with God. When you fellowship, there are deposits of divine enablement in you. Prayer is not only for demands. Prioritize fellowship.
3. Prayer edifies you.
4. Prayer is a tool for intercession.
5. Prayer is an antidote to afflictions: (James 5:13 NKJV).

Systems to keep your prayer life charged:
1. Find a prayer partner to be accountable to.
2. Join a prayer group.
3. Listen to songs that stir you to pray.
4. Attend Prayer Meetings.

Every moment is a praying moment. Pray!
