Topic: Let Your Heart Sing.
Text: Hebrews 13:15,16 (NKJV), Luke 17:11-19 (NKJV).
As a born again child of God, you cannot be possessed (have a demon reside in you) because God is resident in your spirit. However, you should be wary of demonic influence. Satanic voices often disguise as advice which if taken, could short-circuit your life. Be mindful of who whispers into your ears. Jesus discerned the mind of Satan behind the voice of Peter, and rebuked it immediately (Matthew 16:23). If the devil can’t stop you he will try to distract and derail you, and if you’re not careful, you will complain about what you should give praise for.
This season, you should be careful not to lose your praise. You must be intentional about giving God thanks in every circumstance (I Thessalonians 5:18). If you have nothing to rejoice over, praise God that Jesus fought and won to hand the victory over to you.
Praise is the believer’s super power. Your life travels in the direction of your praise. Don’t lose your song. The antidote to barreness is singing (Isaiah 54:1). Thanksgiving is the traffic controller of your destiny.
Luke 17:12-18 (NKJV) – The 10 lepers were cleansed as they went towards the priest because they already encountered Jesus, the great High Priest. However, only one (a Samaritan) returned to Jesus to give thanks. Do not be like the nine; to become too familiar with the miraculous that you undermine gratitude. Do not even take everyday blessings for granted.
Luke 17:19 (KJV) – God equates thanksgiving with faith, which unlocks wholeness. Philippians 4:6,7 (NKJV) – Prayers work with thanksgiving.
Layers of Thanksgiving:
– Thanksgiving starts from the heart.
– Hebrews 13:15 (NKJV) -Thanksgiving must be vocalized. There’s no real thanksgiving without a testimony. Do not let anything stop your thanksgiving. Let your heart sing. It’s because your heart is sad, that’s why things seem bad. Rest: Jesus already carried the weight of the world (Matthew 6:27). As long as God is constant, you will always win.
– Hebrews 13:16 (TPT) – After your heart is grateful, the next level of thanksgiving is to show mercy to the poor. As much as it lies within your power, help those in need around you.
– Hebrews 13:16 (TPT, MSG) – Do not miss an opportunity to show kindness. Do not cheat others, including your employers. Do things for the common good. Share what you have. This is part of thanksgiving. These are acts of worship and are sacrifices that please God’s heart.
Prayer
Thank you Lord for all you have done for us. Out of the gratitude of our hearts, our mouths will speak, our hands will give and we will do good and show kindness to others. As we give thanks, we release faith for our next level. Amen.
