Kingdom Realities (Part 1) By Rev. Lanre Oluseye

Ministering: Rev. Lanre Oluseye
Topic: Kingdom Realities (Part 1)
Text: Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

In the drudgery of life it is easy to forget that our main assignment is to colonize the earth. At times we lose track of the big picture while focusing on achieving a goal.
Our main assignment is to bring heaven to earth; to establish the kingdom of God on this earth.
The aim of colonization is to impact culture. As ambassadors of the kingdom of God, we ought to download the culture of heaven and superimpose it on the culture of the earth.

Jesus’ primary message was the Gospel of the Kingdom. The message of the kingdom is so important that the devil will fight you from hearing it. (Matthew 13:18-22 – the Parable of the Sower).

Matthew 6:31-33 : The natural outcome of seeking the Kingdom is that you will never lack.
The Kingdom refers to the King’s dominion within the King’s domain. The King’s domain is the earth (Psalm 24:1)
The Greek word ‘basileia’ (mamlâkâh in Hebrew) used for ‘kingdom’ in Matthew 6:33 is the same word rendered as dominion in Genesis 1:26. God wants you to have dominion. Once you have dominion you never have to bother about what you’ll eat, drink, or wear.

Whenever you exhibit the image and likeness of God, you are walking in dominion.
God made man on the sixth day and rested on the seventh – He had made his replacement on the earth realm. The first day of God’s rest was the first day of man’s work.

From the first day man opened his eyes, God started mentoring him on how to be a god.
1. The first mentoring class was ‘Rest’ (Genesis 2:2). Man’s dominion always starts from the place of rest. (John 10:35, Psalm 115:16)
2. The second class was ‘How to Demonstrate Dominion’ (Genesis 2:19). Dominion is exercised by speech.
3. The third class was on ‘Spirit Intelligence’ – superior knowledge. (Genesis 2:21-23). A man in dominion knows things nobody taught him. This is the reason we pray in the Spirit.

When God says “Have dominion” He’s saying ‘Take your place and fill your space!’ You are legally permitted to occupy till He comes (Luke 19:13). Don’t let anybody make you feel you’re not qualified to be here. A man who understands he’s made in the image and likeness of God is a man in dominion.
Dominion is you excelling in a way that draws glory to God (Matthew 5:16); Handling your affairs in a way that draws attention to the excellency and Majesty of God.
If you can bring glory to God, you can also bring Him shame. (II Samuel 12:14). There’s a blessing to dominion but also great responsibility. Be ready for what you’re praying for (Luke 14:31).

There’s the aspect of what to gain and also what you’re willing to lose for the kingdom.
How will you perform when God does what you’re asking Him for? What are you willing to lose for the integrity of the kingdom?
You were designed for dominion but in your quest for dominion, do not ask for what your character can’t sustain.

Prayer: Father try our hearts…so that when we begin to operate in dominion we will not become embarrassments to Your name and to Your Kingdom. Amen
