Topic: En Christo
Text: Galatians 3:26-28 (NKJV, NLT, MSG & TPT)
The only thing that makes you a child of God is faith in Christ Jesus. Baptism by any form is incomplete and meaningless without baptism into Christ. When you are baptized in Christ, it means you have put on Christ. When God looks at you, He sees Christ. This is all that justification entails. “Your baptism in Christ dresses you in an adult faith wardrobe” (Galatians 3:27 MSG).
In Christ, there is no discrimination or marginalization, irrespective of societal hierarchy, label, or gender. We are one in Him.
John 8:32 (NKJV), It is the truth that you know that makes you free. When you know who you are, it affects the way you carry yourself. Knowing who you are in Christ can make you overcome anything. The understanding of who you are in Christ is what makes you free.
One of the powerful things that happens at salvation is that your location changes. There will be a transition from darkness to light, scarcity to abundance, barrenness to fertility. In Christ, you live, move, and have your being. You cannot be seen in sickness, penury, frustration, or depression because you don’t live there anymore. Your salvation in Christ has changed your location (Philemon 1:6 NKJV). In Christ, man becomes a God-man. When you know that you are in Christ, there will always be exemptions for you.
When the devil wants to get you, he makes you doubt your location in Christ and turns your eyes away from maximizing the efficacy of your existence in Christ. Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV) says you are “in” Him and not “with” Him. Being “in” Christ makes you one with Him. In Christ, you are everything you need to be. In Christ, you are not a refurbished product; you are a new specie existing with a clean sheet and without any record of your past (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV). In Christ, there is no condemnation.
In Christ, you are a life-giving spirit and so nothing is permitted to die in your hands. (1 Corinthians 15:45 KJV). In Him, there’s only one outcome regardless of the intensity of the circumstance, you win!
