Ministering: Pastor Uche Onochie
Topic: Authority to engage
Text: Mark 11:27–33 (NKJV) & James 2:14-26 (NKJV)
It is God’s desire for man to be reconciled to Him. This is the reason Jesus gave us the ministry of reconciliation. When you prioritize God’s work, your well-being will become His priority.
2 Corinthians 5:17: Being born again doesn’t end with becoming a new creation. The creation of man serves as a seal and mandate. We have the obligation to replenish the earth with believers. Only then can we subdue the earth (Genesis 1:28 NKJV). Winning a soul and bringing that soul to church is only the first phase in your ministry of reconciliation. Because you are a new creation, you are different from unbelievers. You’ve been born again to become like Christ. You are born of the Spirit, no longer of the flesh.
When we talk about being born of the Spirit, we have a duty to perform: expanding the kingdom. Faith without works is dead; salvation without works is unfulfilling. With faith, you can act. James 2:26 is our call to action. There are many believers who do not know the power they carry. Without faith, you cannot do much.
We can use the positions we occupy to expand the kingdom. You must be able to act in faith! The Holy Spirit is given to us for the works that Christ was going to do (John 14:12 NKJV, Acts 10:38 NKJV, and Romans 8:11). The things that appear insurmountable are easy with the Holy Spirit. You cannot get into the Promised Land without a fight (Deuteronomy 7:1-2 NKJV). However, you can be rest assured that with God, it will be victory at last. You must learn how to engage. To engage, you must understand what happens in the spirit realm.
We have the mandate to disciple nations (Acts 19:11 & 13 NKJV). The gift of the Holy Spirit is the greatest gift anyone can have. You have the authority to execute judgment (John 5:27 NKJV). The Holy Spirit will give you prompts that will direct you. When you have won a soul, take a step further to teach them how to engage.
