God’s love is premised on His holiness therefore it is unconditional and constant. Our love for God however, varies and is not always dependable.

Ephesians 3:14-19 (AMP) – There are levels of love and depths of intimacy. The consciousness of the depth of God’s love releases the anointing.

Levels of Love for God:

1. Childlike Love (I Corinthians 13:11) – Love that relies only on what you can get from God (Reward-based love). It is attracted to what Jesus represents but cannot stand what is required. It displays spirituality without surrender.

2. Obedience – Love based on devotion rather than duty. Genesis 12:1,4 – The necessity of leaving the familiar in order to experience the supernatural. You obey before you understand. God is more interested in who you become in the process, than on the outcome. I Samuel 15:22 – Obedience seems hard because your flesh resists what your spirit needs. Obedience tests the quality of your heart towards God and proves you can be trusted. Trust is the currency of intimacy. God confronts your lifestyle, your pride and your choices at the level of obedience. The Holy Spirit will only operate in your life to the extent you permit him.

3. Friendship – Love based on companionship rather than obligation. Here, God is no longer a distant King but a caring Friend, and the experience of His presence is prioritized over personal prayer requests. Worship becomes a lifestyle.

4. Surrender – Love that sacrifices. Here, God’s presence means more to you than your desires. Romans 12:1 – A living sacrifice involves a conscious will that is surrendered, in spite of the weight of the sacrifice. Surrender transcends comfort.

As you grow in the different levels of intimacy with God, you will realize that love never fails. Come up higher in the levels of Love. God is not a man that He should lie, if He said it, He will make it good. Love never fails.

Prayer

Father take me higher in my level of relationship and intimacy with You. I refuse to remain an infant concerning the things of the Spirit in Jesus name. Amen.
