Let Judah Go First By Pastor Lanre Oluseye
Ministering: Rev. Lanre Oluseye
Topic: Let Judah Go First
Texts: I Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV), Judges 1:1,2 (NKJV)
I Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV) – in rejoicing, give thanks; in praying, give God thanks; in whatever situation you find yourself, give Him thanks.
Judges 1:1,2 (NKJV) – Let Judah go first. Start your year with praise. Meet every situation with thanksgiving and it will end in thanksgiving. Let praise be the first thing you do, not the last thing.
Hebrews 13:15 (NKJV) – Praise must be continuous, not ceremonial.
Exodus 29:38,39 (NKJV) – The sacrifice of praise is a daily sacrifice.
Exodus 30:7-8 (NKJV), Revelation 5:8 – Your prayers also should be continual. It’s about the frequency and not the timing.
God expects that prayer and praise are carried out everyday, not seasonally. It’s your responsibility; nobody will praise and pray for you. Jesus has removed the middle man (Hebrews 13:15).
When God asks for anything, it’s usually for our own benefit, not because He would starve or be affected if we didn’t do it.
Romans 1:21-30 (NKJV, NLT, MSG) – This is what happens to people who know God but refuse to acknowledge Him. It is a downward spiral. When you refuse to honour God you will make idols of the things God has given you. When a generation decides to be ungrateful they open themselves to serve the things that are less than God. Depravity sets in when you’re ungrateful. We must choose to honour God.
Prayer: Father, this year we choose to honour you as God. Amen.
