Topic: My Destiny; the Purpose for my Pain
Texts: Habakkuk 2:3 (NKJV), I Samuel 16:1-3,11(NKJV)
Destiny comes calling in different ways. Vision (Destiny) speaks in the fullness of time. Destiny is what the Author and Finisher has written concerning you. David was different because of where he was going to. It’s okay to think differently.
1. Vision speaks through circumstances; I Samuel 17:17,18,28-36 (NKJV ). The things you go through shape you into who you become. It was in the fields David knew he could kill the lion and the bear. Without adversity there can’t be advancement. II Samuel 5:2; David developed skills of shepherding God’s people while he shepherded flocks in the field. John 15: 2; Without pruning, there’ll be no kingship. Psalm 78:70-72 (NKJV); God will trust you with a great assignment after He has trained you for it.
2. I Samuel 16:14 -18; Destiny calls through appraisals. People are watching. Somebody noticed David while he played the harp when no one was watching. Don’t drop that skill; in the fullness of time it will take you to the palace. I Chronicles 11:10-47, II Samuel 23:8-39; David learned military formations from shepherding his sheep. His music not only calmed Saul, he also made melodies to God. Suffering builds you up, Destiny is calling; be prepared. Proverbs 22:29 (NKJV); The connection of God is better than the connection of man. God has his own ways of connecting you to the right place. Keep doing what you ought to be doing, and excel at it.
3. I Samuel 18:1-9,12,14-15 Saul loved David until the women sang David’s praises. Destiny attracts enmity and problems. Between the anointing and the kingship there’ll be a lot of provocation. It took 15 years of David running away from Saul before he ascended the throne.
4. Be careful what you do between the anointing and the palace. David had opportunities to kill Saul but did not. You don’t kill the person in the position you aspire to be in. I Samuel 24:1-7; Do not work against people in authority over you. Romans 13:1,2 (NKJV). Be careful how you react when you’re under authority.
5. Always remember that there are repercussions for your actions. Absalom rose against his father because of what David did with Bathsheba and Uriah.
The vision is for an appointed time. X-ray your life today. What you have and what your experience is, is what you’ll take to the palace. God is watching, men are watching. See you at the palace.
