Text: Joshua 1:1-9 (NKJV)

Joel 2:25 (NKJV) declares one of the blessings we will experience this year: “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” Even though past years may have been lost, God promises restoration. When God restores, it does not necessarily mean giving you back lost years — He impacts your future with elongated results. He will cause you to have victories that supersede what you experienced in your lost years. You will achieve so much within a short time.
This year, God will align your mindset with His plans for your future. Every so often, we’re unaware of the blessings He has prepared for us because we are held back by the past. In hindsight, you’ll see that during the trials, you were a work-in-progress.
Courage in the Face of Fear.
Fear and flight are natural responses to the unknown. They are immediate choices people take when they get to a territory they do not know. This inadvertently results to neglecting the need to take steps that cause things to turn around for you. Do not dismay. Hebrews 4:16 & Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
Find your courage in God. When fear arises, it may feel difficult to summon courage, but seek His face and He will strengthen you.
The Basis of Courage
1. Meditate on God’s Word.
Reflecting on His promises builds your faith.
2. Obey His Word.
When you act on God’s Word, blessings will follow and your faith will grow. As Deuteronomy 28:2 (NKJV) says: “And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.”
There are situations you are faced with that are as daunting as lions and bears. David was courageous when he had to fight the lion and the bear. He displayed the same courage when he had an encounter with Goliath. The source of his courage in his encounters with these “mountains” was God (Samuel 17:45 NKJV).
Face your fears, knowing God is the source of your courage. Nothing is impossible for you to do. This is your season to dominate, replenish and multiply.
There’s nothing you have that God did not give. The presence of God is a priceless gift (2 Samuel 6:6-11 NKJV).
Go back, do it again, re-strategize. Everything God has promised, He will bring to pass. Stand on His word. (Joshua 1:3 & Ephesians 3:20 NKJV). You are the Christ that another person sees. Work in agreement with God’s word. Do not let fear win.
