Topic: Spread the fire
Text: Mark 16:15-20 (NKJV)
The love of God is so strong and powerful that if you don’t fully understand it, there’s a tendency that you may take it for granted. It is important you interrogate God’s love for man for you to understand the depth of His love for you. How does a loving God love a sinful man so much so that He sent His only son to die so that He can reconcile man back to Himself?
God loved man completely, despite knowing all the bad and ugly sides of man. One of the ways you know that God loves you is by the things you survived. The love of God is so good that He gave man the freewill to make choices. He took this risk, knowing that there’s a possibility of man not choosing Him. What manner of love is this?
God sacrificed His son for man because of the value He put on man. Your soul is worth more than the riches of the world (Mark 8:36 KJV). The question is: What is so valuable about the soul of man that God gave up His son to save him?
1. Genesis 2:7; God being spirit, breathed life into man. It was the breath of God that made man a living soul. The Soul of man is immortal. This is the reason souls are valuable to God.
Man cannot be unborn, man can only be reborn (become born again). The body of man can die, but the soul of man is eternal.
2. The capacity of the soul; the capacity of the soul of man is enormous, so much that one man had a legion of demon in him (Mark 5:6&9 KJV). The man in question worshiped Jesus even with the legion of demon he carried. No situation should stop you from worship.
Spreading the fire is about evangelism (Soul Winning — Mark 16:15). A credible witness is an eyewitness — a witness of how you’ve experienced Jesus by yourself. You cannot witness about what you haven’t experienced. Be ready to win a soul today (Proverbs 11:30 KJV).
Having the awareness of the depth of God’s love for you is enough for you to reciprocate the love to Him. God wants you to show your love for Him by keeping His commandments (John 14:15 NKJV).
Jesus was buried, and He rose to secure your future. This is the gospel we ought to live by. You do not need to be a pastor or an “evangelist” to preach the gospel. Anywhere you find yourself is your pulpit. Everyone has a pulpit. Spread the fire today!
