Topic: Kingdom Realities (Pt 2)
Text: Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
The natural outcome of seeking the kingdom of God is that needs are supplied.
Dominion is the natural outcome of being in God’s image (Genesis 1:26).
Man lost dominion when Adam fell in Eden but at Jesus’ death and resurrection, dominion was transferred back to man.
In Matthew 6:9- l1 (NKJV) — The Lord’s Prayer — Jesus was not just showing us a pattern but the order of priority in prayer. After adoration comes kingdom, not need. Pray for God’s kingdom and His will before asking for your daily bread.
What exactly is this kingdom?
Is the kingdom of God the same as the kingdom of heaven?
The kingdom of God is everywhere that God made, while the kingdom of heaven is the extent to which the culture and value system of heaven finds expression on the earth.
— Romans 14:17 — The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
— Luke 17:20,21 — The kingdom of God is invisible. It is not a physical place; it is within you.
— John 3:3 — Salvation is the only way of entry into the kingdom of God. If you’re saved, you are part of the kingdom of God.
It is possible to be in the kingdom of God (in your spirit) and not be in the kingdom of heaven (in your soul). Some people in the kingdom of God vacillate in and out of the kingdom of heaven. This is why we are not affecting our world even though we’re many — there’s no convergence of the kingdom of Heaven inside the kingdom of God.
It’s not about being in the kingdom of God, it’s about expressing heaven’s values and culture on the earth.
Matthew 6:10 is the greatest picture of how a child of God should be — you’re not only in the kingdom of God, but you’ve also allowed your life to give expression to the culture and value system of heaven — an amalgamation of the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven.
In the Parables of Jesus are codes showing us how to act to give expression to the kingdom of heaven on earth. “The Kingdom of heaven is like….”
— Matthew 13:3-9, 18-23 — The parable of the Sower. Four soils in the kingdom of God, but only one gave expression to the kingdom of heaven. This is why everyone can be exposed to the same anointing but grow at different rates.
— Matthew 13:24-30 — The Parable of Wheat and Tares — When you give expression to the kingdom of heaven, you can stay in a hostile territory and still flourish. Stop running! Every time we run we allow the enemy to take over. You cannot become a champion without a fight (John 16:33). Opposition is a testament that you are noticed.
— Matthew 13:31,32 — The Parable of the Mustard Seed – Your life should be a channel for the kingdom of heaven to flow on the earth. Who is taking shade under you?
— Matthew 13:33 — The Parable of the Leaven — A great influence; affecting the atmosphere of the place where you are. The effulgence of the kingdom of heaven finding expression in the life of a man makes that one man like a thousand (Isaiah 60:22). In everything God does, He starts with one – will you be that ‘one’?
— Matthew 13:45,46 — The Parable of the Pearl — If your absence is not felt then your presence was never needed. Value/Quality does not hide.
— Matthew 13:47-50 — The Parable of the Dragnet — The reason we cannot really channel the kingdom of heaven even though we’re all in the kingdom of God is because we do not celebrate our differences. (I Corinthians 11:30,31) Every type of expression that God has, has value.
How much of heaven comes through your salvation to affect your territory on earth?
Why fake what can be real?
God will not ask you to give account of what He did not give you.
The only reason why we’re here is to ensure that what we see in the Kingdom of heaven is brought down to earth.
Prayer: Lord, let my life give expression to the kingdom of heaven. May my life/business/family be a channel for heaven to invade the earth. Amen.
